Heartbreaking, joyous, and thrilling all in one. Characters are relatable and you can feel for each of them. Loved this story and look forward to reading more from these authors. I love both of these authors so when I found out they were writing together, well needless to say I was excited!

Merritt is a spirited independent FMC who doesn't let anyone push her around. She lived 15 years thinking her father abandoned her and forced her to leave the three boys she loved. Then her father does and she must go home to deal with his affairs and to face the three men she left years ago. A suspense filled love story full of twists and revelations, a definite MUST read!

Book Sunshine and Bullets: The Complete Box Set The Bullets Trilogy Review : The fact I purchased this box set on top of all the individual books and the audiobooks of this series should probably tell you something about my love for Sunshine and her Bullets.

This series is one of the few series I've reread a few times the last year and it seems I can't get enough of them. Sunshine and Bullets were my first endeavor in the dark romance, I still remember how scared I was to go into it, being afraid that I would end up a sobbing mess, scared out of my mind for the potential heart shattering, soul crushing moments.

I am an ugly crier and I hate it, therefore I'd do anything to avoid the feeling of sadness and hopelessness. I'm also a masochist, so I dove in head first. This series blew my mind, left me in awe, crushed me, shattered me and built me up again. It was raw, unadulterated pain and lust and love.

It was dark, so dark And yet the love between Sunshine and the Bullets stood out like a beacon of light and hope. These characters will forever have a place in my mind, my heart and my soul. I love this series so much. We've got interesting and high stakes actions, layers upon layers of character connections and backstories and secrets and unclear motivations, an incredibly well-rounded harem of men that I genuinely care about equally like seriously, they are all awesome , and a kick-a heroine that is both tough and vulnerable all at once.

This RH felt a bit atypical to me in a great way in that the RH wasn't a natural fit for a lot of them at first. In another reality, she had a son she loved. In this photo, she was a selfless mother, doing right by her kid. The picture was of her at sixteen, in a hospital gown with a proud smile on her face, like she was the fucking Virgin Mary.

She was cradling a newborn baby wrapped up in a blue hospital blanket, with her sweaty hair pulled back. The picture was worn and creased like she spent a lot of time looking at it. Of course it was him. Hell, I honestly had never seen a baby photo of myself. You need to expect pain.

You need to expect darkness. You need to expect heartache. But I promise you this, everything CJ puts your heart through will worth the heartache in the end. She'll show you you can take a hit. Once Summer was a Golden Girl; sweet, innocent, a good student, the perfect daughter of the police chief's perfect family. She played the part of a good girl beautifully with one exception or three. She had a secret friendship with the Bullets, the local gang.

They were the town's bad boys; underground fighters, drug dealers, womanizers but Summer knew a different side to them. With her, they were gentle, protective. She was their Sunshine. Until it all fell apart and she disappeared.

Summer was no more. She ran, changed her look, her name. She lived on the streets, did what she had to do. She survived. The Bullets and one of her dad's officers came together from the day she disappeared. Never believing that she was dead, they didn't give up until they found her. Now they have her back. It's the same but so very different. She's a different girl than the innocent girl they once knew. The guys are all grown up now and much more dangerous.

A crime boss, a pro fighter, a bounty hunter, and a federal agent all bonded over the girl they once knew, the girl they all loved. Still love. However, Sunshine ran for a reason. Now that her past has caught up to her, it may kill her. Sunshine and Bullets is extraordinary.

For me, it was also a difficult read.
